Primary Bedroom: A Custom Focal Point
The Challenge: Elevate a simple, builder-grade bedroom into a sophisticated, custom sanctuary with a strong focal point and functional, ambient lighting. The constraint was the desire to achieve a high-end, custom look without a high-end budget, requiring a creative, DIY-friendly solution.t.
The Solution: A redesign featuring a custom, oversized headboard wall using decorative ceiling tiles to introduce texture and architectural interest, immediately elevating the room's design. This feature is bordered by decorative trim painted the color of the white accent wall and is flanked by adjustable copper-painted sconces, which not only provide task lighting but also introduce a metallic element that complements the room's deep blue and teal accents (the nightstands and bedding). An elegant navy tufted bench sits at the foot of the bed to accommodate our dog and cats. White blackout curtains suspended from copper toned curtain rods promote a restful night’s sleep. Overhead a patina-ed drum chandelier fan completes the elevated aesthetic. The resulting design is a cohesive, layered space that directly embodies a balance of deep, grounding colors and warm, reflective materials.
